GLEN ALLEN, Va., (Sept. 18, 2025) -- ChemTreat, Inc., a Veralto Company, recently donated $50,000 to the James River Association (JRA), a Virginia-based organization that works to preserve the James River through restoration projects and advocacy efforts.
“The JRA works throughout the 10,000 square miles of the James River watershed,” said Ashleigh Moody, Vice President of Development at JRA. “We monitor the river, respond to problems, seek policy changes, and implement on-the-ground projects to restore the river’s health while engaging more than 24,000 students in environmental education programs.”
As part of our commitment to our community and the environment, ChemTreat has supported the JRA since 2016.
“The JRA’s mission is very closely tied to ChemTreat’s,” said Katie Perryman, co-head of the Culture Council’s Steering Committee and Senior Manager of the Pretreatment Technical Staff team. “We both have a strong focus on sustaining the health of our environment and protecting our most vital resource: water.”
In 2025, ChemTreat’s Culture Council donated $25,000 to the JRA. The executive leadership team donated an additional $25,000 to honor the memory of ChemTreat co-founder Harrison Tyler, who passed away earlier this year.
“This tribute aligns perfectly with Mr. Tyler's vision of continuously enhancing the river's health and supporting the surrounding communities,” said Joe Keating, VP of Global Sales and Services at ChemTreat. “We are profoundly proud to honor his legacy in this manner, and it is our sincere hope that this support will further JRA’s admirable mission and continue to champion the well-being of the river, which holds a special place in the hearts of Mr. Tyler and all of us at ChemTreat.”

ChemTreat’s donation will go directly towards JRA’s core programs, including tree-planting projects through the Community Conversation Program as well as Restoration, Advocacy, and Education initiatives.
“ChemTreat is always looking for opportunities to give back to the community,” said Perryman. “Organizations like the JRA are very inspiring in what they do, not only to support the environment around us but also educate young people in the local area.”
In addition to the donation, ChemTreat’s Research & Development and Environmental, Health & Safety teams attended a volunteering event at the JRA’s new James A. Buzzard River Education Center in May, helping with landscaping and invasive plant removal.

The Culture Council also invited Moody to give a presentation for ChemTreat employees to share the organization’s mission and work.
“I think this partnership is absolutely great for ChemTreat, as it goes beyond just focusing on water treatment to a whole water ecosystem, like that of the James,” said Nick Seymour, co-head of the Culture Council Steering Committee and R&D Senior Chemist.

The ChemTreat Culture Council and the JRA hope to continue expanding this partnership in years to come.
“We would like to continue increasing engagement and participation for ChemTreat employees, such as through presentations, tours, and volunteering projects,” said Moody.
