H2S and Mercaptan Scavenger Treatment Solutions

From liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to asphalt and everything in between, ChemTreat’s H2S scavenger portfolio includes:

  • Solutions for crude oil, EPA-registered finished fuels, flare gas systems, LPG and gas transmission, asphalt, and heavy gas oil.

Patent-Pending Flare Gas Line Non-Nitrogen H2S Scavenger Technology

ChemTreat’s CT9155 and CT9156 technology are designed to reduce the presence of H2S in both direct flare systems and flare gas recovery units. Combined with our proprietary atomization control strategy, this unique formulation has exhibited multiple advantages over traditional MEA/MMA triazine treatment in comparative trials, including:

  • Lower sub-stoichiometric dosage requirements for better H2S scavenger treatment cost performance.
  • Improved permit compliance performance and lower SOx emissions.
  • Enhanced aerobic microbiological system performance and reduced amine/ammonia loading in wastewater treatment plants.
  • Fewer tower salting/corrosion concerns in refineries that process flare gas residual through the slop reprocessing system or reuse flare seal drum water in other processes.
  • Automated monitoring and injection control system capabilities enabled by rapid scavenging response times.

Unlike traditional triazine H2S scavengers, this technology converts H2S to bisulfide and uses a catalyst to speed up the oxidation reactions. Additionally, they do not contain reaction byproducts that can inhibit microbial activity in wastewater treatment systems and overload bioreactors.
