ChemTreat Supports Local Community Organizations to Boost STEM Education and Promote Environmental Projects

Supporting Environmental Efforts in our Community

GLEN ALLEN, Va., (July 25, 2023) — ChemTreat, Inc. a Virginia-based company, has partnered with two environmentally conscious organizations in its local community to provide funding for new projects and volunteer opportunities to its associates.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia will receive $15,000 from ChemTreat to upgrade the greenhouse in their Children’s Garden. The greenhouse provides educational opportunities for local elementary and middle school students. Field trips to the greenhouse allow the children a chance to become immersed in nature and learn about climate change, water conservation, botany, and more as part of their STEM education.

“Our Garden serves an outdoor classroom for the community, welcoming thousands of school children each year,” said Brian Trader, President and CEO at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. “We’re grateful to ChemTreat for assistance in upgrading the Children’s Garden greenhouse, which is an important part of the field trip experience. This improvement will help us connect young people to plants, inspiring them to explore and conserve nature.”

Lewis Ginter also offers corporate associates volunteer opportunities involving planting, clean-up, and light maintenance projects, or to participate in educational events and work in the community garden, which supports a local food pantry.

The James River Association will also receive $15,000 from ChemTreat. As a “Mussel” Corporate Partner, ChemTreat can sponsor a student scholarship and offer associates a variety of volunteer opportunities, from monitoring water quality and planting trees to removing invasive species and assisting with educational events.

“Supporting the oldest and largest river conservation group in Virginia aligns with our purpose of continuous improvement, innovation, building the best team, and protecting our environment,” said VP of Marketing Lori Palmer. “We believe a healthy James River will support our thriving community. We look forward to seeing how our volunteers’ time along with our financial commitment will help JRA move the river’s health to a Grade A.”

As a recognized leader in industrial water treatment, ChemTreat understands the importance of protecting natural resources. We are excited to partner with local organizations whose missions reflect ours and with whom we can work to promote educational outreach, participate in volunteer opportunities, and advance our mission to maximize the power of water.
